IANTD ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR

Course

This IANTD Assistant Instructor course is preparatory for those who wish to become an IANTD Dive Instructor and is intended for qualified Divemasters who will learn to lead parts of the IANTD Open Water Diver course as well as subsequent courses, training to provide correct student assessments. ‘ performance.

The goals of education and training are:

  1. To train the candidate for assistant instructor to organize, lead and control sports diving activities limited to his level and diving specialties for which he is qualified, both from land and from a boat.
  2. Train the candidate to behave correctly and effectively in the role of assistant instructor during IANTD sports courses.
  3. Develop theoretical knowledge and skills to a level sufficient to become an instructor in the future.
  4. To enable the candidate to independently lead the introductory courses of basic snorkeling (IANTD Snorkel Skin Diver).

Course overview

  • A minimum 5-day program during which the candidate will train to learn how to assess student divers during their training.
  • Evaluation of aquatic and diving techniques.
  • Underwater training dives with the aim of controlling and guiding divers.
  • Follow the entire IANTD Open Water Diver course as an assistant, in all theoretical and practical phases, both in closed water (or pool) and in open water.
  • Follow at least 5 advanced open water dives, Rescue Diver or other recreational specialty courses as an assistant. Of these, 5 must be guided and controlled by already certified divers during recreational diving.
  • A diver who successfully passes the course will receive an IANTD assistant instructor certificate.

Course prerequisites

  1. IANTD Divemaster certification or equivalent.
  2. IANTD Rescue Diver and IANTD MFA/BLSD/Oxygen Provider certification or equivalent.
  3. Proof of registration of at least 100 dives, of which 30 are deeper than 30 m and 30 assists on a course under the supervision of an instructor.
  4. Minimum age 18, already completed before starting the course.
  5. Medical certificate of suitability for diving.

IANTD Assistant Instructor Training Kit, including Professional Journal, etc., required prior to course commencement.

Duration of the course

The duration of the course depends on the completion of all phases of theoretical and practical training, and is especially determined by the frequency of activities and immersion in the nursing internship.
