IANTD OPEN WATER SIDE MOUND DIVER

COURSE

This innovative specialty program offers the fundamental knowledge to increase diving ability and safety using the side mount system, that is, the use of tanks mounted on the diver’s hips rather than the back.
Therefore, the course will be developed through the knowledge and use of this special tank belt and the diver’s buoyancy system.

COURSE OVERVIEW

  1. Equipment checklist.
  2. Knowledge and use of side mounting equipment.
  3. Using a side mount configuration.
  4. Carrying out dry tests on lateral assembly exercises.
  5. Installing the side mount
  6. Side mount propulsion techniques.
  7. Emergency management exercises from the sidelines.
  8. Remove and return equipment to the surface smoothly and without catching.
  9. The gas used is the one/s specified in the patents owned by the student.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

  1. IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent from another educational agency.
  2. 18 years.
  3. Medical certificate of suitability for diving.
  4. After signing the IANTD form “Aced and Waiver of Liability”.

COURSE DURATION

This course essentially represents knowing and using a configuration of equipment that is completely different from what has been used so far. Dry lessons must be conducted on the composition and use of the side mounting system.
After that, a section in closed waters must be performed to practice the sidecarrying exercises. Finally, a minimum of 120 minutes of bottom time must be completed using the side mount to complete in a maximum of 4 dives.
