The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course is structured to train divers who wish to dive to a depth between 40 and 60 meters with open gear, using trimix mixtures that allow them not to be susceptible to any form of narcosis, or keeping it within low and controlled limits .

The course is therefore suitable for those who do not want to breathe compressed air at depths greater than 40 meters or suffer its narcotic effects.

Overview of exchange rates

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver is designed to train divers to safely use trimix mixtures down to a depth of 60m.60m.

The benefits of using a trimix mix essentially come from reducing the percentage of nitrogen in it.

In its place is placed a percentage of helium, which is a much less narcosis-producing gas than nitrogen, and affords various advantages, the chief of which is the retention of clarity in depth.

Topics covered include history of gas diving, physics, physiology, equipment setup, training, dive charts, repetitive dive calculations.

Hands-on sessions include how to safely handle trimix mixes, how to analyze them, confined water training and three (3) dives.

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course increases students’ general knowledge of diving.

At the end of the course, the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers will issue a corresponding patent.

Course prerequisites

• Possess IANTD Advanced EANx Diver certification or equivalent.
• Be 18 years old.

Educational materials for the course

During the course it is mandatory to use the IANTD NORMOXIC TRIMIX DIVER manual with the relevant dive tables and analysis stickers.

Dives must be recorded in the appropriate dive log and signed by the instructor.

Duration of the course

Five (5) theory lessons, closed water, three (3) dives with mixtures with a maximum of 30% helium (He) and a minimum of 20% oxygen (O2) at a maximum depth of 60 m.

Course

The IANTD Advanced DPV Diver course was the first program of its kind, specifically designed to provide students with complete and adequate training in exercises and theoretical knowledge necessary for effective and safe interaction with a DPV (Diver Propulsion) Vehicle, in Italian: underwater dragger) and make them acquire confidence and responsibility in this type of training based on the experience gained as a diver.

Course overview and purpose

1. The Advanced DPV Diver course must be developed with a minimum of 130 minutes of water + theory.
2. Credits are not allowed.
3. Theoretical lessons will focus on the following topics:
   • Advantages and risks of DPV.
   • Equipment.
   • Diving techniques.
   • Load distribution – Planning.
   • Gas sharing techniques.
   • Traction techniques.
   • Emergency techniques.
   • Transport and storage.
   • Maintenance.

Course requirements

1. At least 18 years old.
2. Be at least IANTD Deep Air Diver qualified (or equivalent from another agency) with at least 50 certified dives.

Course duration and restrictions

1. At least one session in closed water to develop diving skills.
2. At least one hundred and thirty (130) minutes of diving (bottom time) to be performed in four (4) dives.
3. Maximum depth 40 meters, maximum total decompression time 15 minutes if participants attend the Advanced Course. The maximum depth of the exercise is 18 meters. The maximum depth of the exercise is 18 meters. Only in the final dive, if the student has done all the exercises correctly and has a previous certificate that qualifies him for that depth, a height of 48 m can be reached. The dive must be planned and all necessary decompression performed. Visibility must be good (minimum 15 meters).

Course

This innovative IANTD specialty program offers the fundamental knowledge to increase the proficiency and safety of the advanced or technical diver in diving through practice and training in the use of the Hogarthian minimalist system, which is already widely used in speleo-underwater exploration.

It introduces and lays the foundations for any future course in advanced and technical diving, in wrecks or in caves and obstructed environments in general.

It further improves the level of training of expert divers.

It teaches new drive systems and improves posture and posture.

This shows that IANTD was the first to promote and teach it to a wider audience of divers who are not involved in speleo-underwater research.

This course represents the true “refinement” of the diver.

• Equivalent certificate from another educational agency. Patent level equivalency is limited to those agencies that, in their joint program with the IANTD Deep Air Diver, provide for the use and mandatory training of a double tank equipped with two valves and a central separator.
• 18 years old.
• Medical certificate of suitability for diving.

This course is a true “refinement” of an advanced and technical diver, duration of the complete course: 21 hours in a maximum of 3 days.
